Weekly Digits

Here are my digits for this week’s grocery shopping.

Kroger Trip #1:  $22.74

Kroger Trip #2:  $27.95 (I had to stock up on more of Annie’s Mac & Cheese 🙂  You can also see that I purchased stew beef off “manager special.”  I love stew beef for various dishes, but I don’t like the price.  Whenever I see it on manager special, I grab it.  It expired the day I bought it, but I immediately split it up into smaller servings and froze it.  I have 4 meals of stew beef for around $11 total.  I used the pork ribs for dinner that night. I will have a future post on the cost-saving benefits of buying “manager specials.”)

Meijer:  38.07 (I forgot to take a picture of this grocery trip, but the highlights included: Almond Milk for $1.50 after sale and coupon; whole chicken fryer for 85¢/lb; Cascadian Farms cereal for $2.00 after sale and coupon; Sunbutter on clearance for $3.19; 5 lbs of apples to make homemade apple butter)

Aldi:  $10.01 (They had delicious Olive Oil Cracked Pepper & Salt kettle chips on clearance for 99¢…such a weakness.)

Drug Mart: $1.25 for bananas (They sell them for 29¢/lb.!!)

Total for the week: $100.02 (Wow!  My goal for grocery spending is $100/week.)

Wonder where the veggies/fruit are? Don’t worry…we are stocked up from last week.
