Serving Others: My Favorite Post Ever

On Thursday evening, our family enjoyed an amazing Christmas concert performed by the 5th-12th graders at our school.  The mood was spectacular in an old Presbyterian Cathedral with white lights strung across the wood beamed rafters, accented by punches of greenery and red bows.  The singing was amazing and I can hardly believe that any professional choir could do much better.  {I’m not kidding!}

On our way home from the concert, I was checking my email on my phone and received an email that was a little strange to me.  The person said she had recently seen my guest post on Money Saving Mom and wondered if I could get her in touch with my friend. (You’ll understand when you read the post.)  It took me a few minutes to figure out what she was talking about.  Upon looking at MSM, I figured out that a very special guest post of mine had just gone live.

My very special guest post wasn’t the typical recipe guest posts that I do at MSM every month.  Rather, this guest post wasn’t initially a post at all.  It was, in fact, an email.  I was so overcome by the blessing that had just taken place with a group of my dearest friends that I had to share it with Crystal Paine (the money saving mom), and let her know how she played a part in this blessing.  The email was intended only for her, but she asked if she could share the story of serving others on her blog.

My prayer is that so many other families can be blessed by this one night of dear friends serving another friend in need.  I hope that you will step out and do the same for another.  And, trust me, the giver is always more blessed than the receiver!

Be blessed today, my friends.  Read 31 Days of Giving on a Budget: Turn a Ladies’ Night Out into an Opportunity to Give Back.

{By the way, the buzz around this post on my personal facebook page was so funny to me.  The ladies had no idea that I had sent this email to Crystal, so they were shocked when they saw their picture.  Some of them had to be told that Crystal’s readers reach millions.  I’m just glad I was the one taking the picture 🙂 }
