Giveaway: Tropical Traditions Insect Repellent

This giveaway is now closed.  Thank you!

Tropical Traditions has once again spoiled me with one of their natural products.  I decided that I wanted to break away (I’m such a rebel!) from food just this once to try their insect repellent.  In my neck of the woods, the mosquitoes are mean and feisty right now.

A few things to get us started: 1) Mosquitoes love me; and 2) I hate traditional bug sprays that are smelly, sticky, and not that good for you.  This is where Tropical Traditions Natural Insect Repellent and Moisturizer comes in.

My Opinion of Tropical Traditions Insect Repellent & Moisturizer

I was surprised when I opened the package to find a lotion bottle; I guess I just expected a spray.  At first, this had me worried because I detest the traditional spray so much that I did not want to put the stuff on my hands to spread on my body.  I was pleasantly surprised.  The repellent and moisturizer combination smells soooo good and feels really good too!  It soaks right in, so you don’t feel greasy.  Plus, it’s not an overpowering smell.  I don’t like smelly lotions, so this certainly worked fine.

How well did the repellent work at keeping away the pesky bugs? It can smell good and feel smooth, but if it doesn’t do the job, there is no point in it.  Again, I was so thankful that this natural product did the job and kept the bugs from biting me…sort of.  Sort of?  You have to make sure that you get the lotion spread on every exposed part or the bugs will find the open spot.  I found this out the hard way, but it still wasn’t too bad.  The next time I used the repellent was at an outdoor movie on a farm and the mosquitoes were biting bad.  I was completely protected.  Yay!

So, do I recommend Tropical Traditions Insect Repellent & Moisturizer? I do without a doubt.  However, let me say that I have never tried making my own homemade insect repellent, and that may be just as good an option.  But, if you want a natural alternative that feels great, does the job well, and doesn’t require any work from you, I think Tropical Tradition fits the bill.
